Liturgy
“Go to the highways
And back alleys
And urge people to come in so that my house will be filled.” (Luke 14:23)
Go to the underpasses
Homeless shelters
Section 8 housing
Go to the wrong side of the tracks
The other side of the border or fence
Go to the place where you’re told not to look
To the person whose eye contact you avoid
Enter into the food deserts
Into the land of payday lending
Into the rural backcountry or the urban projects
Into the suburban isolation or the downtown underbelly
Find those who hide, who fear, who struggle
Extend the invitation to the whole and each of the imago Dei
